As mentioned earlier, besides general dental care, we provide early preventive, interceptive treatment to minimize the long term orthodontic needs of the patient. This is typically instituted at the time the child is 6 to 8 years old, but may occur earlier. It is at this period of development that the child has the greatest orthopedic potential to allow a natural development of the jaws and to make sure there is adequate space for the new adult teeth.
